I'm actually pretty stoked about this con. There are a lot of panels that I'm really interested in, plus I can meet with some Tokyopop artist and see how they got their foot in the door there. And that's not even mentioning the art contests AIPX will be hosting. There should be a lot to do, I checked out the schedual and I think I'm going to have a panel to go to with every hour block. That's totally new to me.
Now with all of this Stargodz talk swirling around too I'm even more excited, and mystery guests? should be an interesting weekend.
I never did get to read the stargodz comics, do you think one of you could bring the stargodz comics with you so i could read them really quickly at the con? I'd really appreciate it, I'd like to know more about it. I also can't wait to see the toys you guys have talked about, they sound really neat.

Dave usually has copies of Stargodz with him at shows. I'm sure he wouldn't mind you checking out a copy. If you like what you see you might even be able to get a signed copy from our "special guest".

Heard about this- can't wait to see it!
Oh, BTW- each day of the cons this year we will be giving away a limited number of Bushi Tales trading cards, too. We had Morgan Printing give us some free promo cards last year so we decided to go ahead and do a full set of Bushi Tales art trading cards for this con season. There are 9 BT art trading cards in each set- full color front and 1 color back. We'll have a different free card each day starting at the Phoenix Comicon/Cactuscon and then others we hit in 2008. Full sets of the cards will be available for sale at each convention appearance. Pre-order BT3 from us at Cactuscon and get a free set of cards!

Just one more week to go, is everyone ready? Pretty much. Got a few things like getting a haircut, doing laundry, packing and such- but finished my art for my sketchbook and got it to Dave last night, and picked up the small bags/sleeves for the trading card sets this weekend. Just have a little touch up on Ra I'll finish up tonight. The main thing I've got to do is get over this friggin' cold. I feel ok, but can't shake my cough and sinuses. Ugh... Jane- wish you guys could go. I think you'd dig it. Ronnie would like it because it's not as chaotic as SDCC. And the weather is nicer than Memphis this time of year! Oh, when I picked up the trading cards bags at TN Card Co. out in Bartlett I noticed they had increased their comics section. About 2/3s of the right wall were comics, plus they had another small shelf of kids comics. If you're headed out towards Jason's would you mind dropping off some BT promo stuff by there? It's on Bartlett Ave (Sycamore View) and Stage next to the Malco there. They also have a store on Goodman in Southaven/Horn Lake, too. Have you been there?

Dave called me and said he just got the BT trading cards in and he said they look sweeeeeet! :thumbsup_anim: Can't wait to see them in person this weekend. Here's a preview of them and the new sketchbooks... There are nine cards in the set, and we will be giving away a limited number away during the con. A different card each day. We'll also have them for sale, and anyone who pre-orders a copy of BT3 at the show will get a set free. And speaking of free- I've been working on some of those sketch cards I promised for the Pod-People who visit us. I've got a layover in Denver Friday morning so I'll be working on more then, too. See ya there, Lin PS- Jane, Dave said he will be sending a bunch of card sets back with me for you.

Here are some of my con-highlights... Dave and Micah picked us up at the airport on Friday morning and we headed out to the new McFarlane store and had lunch down the street at Johnny Rockets. After that we checked into our hotel around the corner from the con in Mesa. First thing we saw as we walked in the door of the con- it blowed up real good! Was way cool to see our art that big, and on half of the con program covers. Dave did the art, Micah came up with the design and did color flats, and I did the color finishes. It was a lot of fun and a nice change to work together on something other than Bushi Tales pages. Got to take my niece Lindsay with me. It was her first big comic convention. She'd only been to one manga/anime convention up in Nashville (MTAC), a sci-fi one (MidSouthCon), and Con-Sequential here in Memphis. She had a blast! She even went to the BOOM! Studios panel. She got to cos-play over the weekend, and met Michelle Ruff who did the voice of the character she was dressed up as. Also got her to sign an action figure for her. Our booth set up. Last year we had a table in artists alley. This year we not only got a booth, but got one next to... Matt Wagner! Great guy. It was cool to be able to look at his original Batman, Grendel, and Zorro art. Also, all the big name guests would stop by his booth to say hi, like... The Dude! We were set up across from my friend Tess Fowler. She's awesome! I ran into her at the mixer at the bar across the street on Friday night and she gave me this- If you get a chance to get a sketch from her- do it! She's been keeping busy doing a ton of sketch cards for a lot of movie properties.
