Hey what happened to the main site? It says it's down, asks for an admin username and password T_T On a better note.. I drew something!! I know she's a bit off.. I only had 2 pictures of her and the one of her in green is different from the line art from the painting, so I thought I'd try my best. I hope you don't mind! I think I also got her bow wrong. I love it anyway ^_^ I just had to show my love for teh Bushi Tales ^_______________^

Melisa- We were updating the NAV with the Message Board but everything is back to normal now. How flattering is this! I don't think I've ever had anyone draw one of my characters for fun before. I love it! There are things that you do in your drawing that after a while I forget to put in my drawings of Akiyo. Great job. Anyway I could talk you into finishing Issue #2 while I finish the painting? Here's the Anime style Akiyo you wanted me to post:

The pic wasn't showing up in your post so I went to your site- Akiyo looks great! Now when I post it does show up..! Looks great in both locations.
There's some more reference for you in this issue!
Looking forward to seeing it in color. Dave can tell you more about markers. He does some great comp/design work with them. I can never get them to look right. I do want to try more colored pencils on colored paper. Steve Stanley works that way and it looks fantastic!
Keep posting those drawings and we may have to start a fan art section of the site!

^_______________^ I'm so glad, I dont know why it stopped showing up. www.deviantart.com/deviation/30330786/I plan on more fanart! I'm even thinking of cosplaying as her. MAN getting her armor would be like.. hard. Once I know on marker colors, I'll give it a shot with markers. If I mess that up, I'll color it in photoshop. LOL *proud fan*

The great thing about Photoshop VS markers is that Photoshop has an undo command, markers don't!

I know it! I'll be markering and then I'll mess up and look for the menu to go back... serously. I do! Maybe I should just ink it and CG it.. The great thing about Photoshop VS markers is that Photoshop has an undo command, markers don't!

Marker comps. Ask me about this at AniZona and I'll show you some stuff you might be able to use. It's on the way of becoming a lost art. Anyway, you typically want to build the drawing in greys. After it's rendered (toned) you want to lay a flat base color over the entire area then come back with a slightly darker shadow color. Try to leave a little space for rimlight. Here's an example. Pay close attention to the enlarged area outlined in red. This is from a TV movie project I did some design work for several years ago.

WOW COOL! I have to buy some grey markers. Excellent, I can't wait to learn! Thanks for the help and the pic, that's a cool drawing! I'm sure I'll understand a little better in person.

Melisa- You'd asked about those Inu-yasha comics. I ran across some info the other day researching something. Looks like they were published in the late 90's by a company called VIZ. VIZ was really big on the Manga scene back in the day. Hope this info helps.
