Kev and I got to go see our buddy Jim Palmer (MSCA member/cartoonist and "Lil' E" creator) in another play this past Friday called "Pillowman". Can't say that this play would be for everyone, just the ones with a twisted sense of humor. I really enjoyed it. It was intense at times- funny, sad, and weird at other times, too. Jim was great as a police detective ("good cop") who along with his "bad cop" police partner are interrogating a writer who's stories are exactly like a couple recent child murders. You find out more and more about each of the characters lives and the writer's stories (including "The Pillowman") as the play goes along- including why I'm holding up four fingers and Jim's got his pointed at my head! It was very fitting we saw this on Friday the 13th! Thanks to Jim's wife JoLynn (who was the dress shop owner in "Black Snake Moan" with Samuel L. Jackson) for our tickets. This was the third time I've gotten to catch one of Jim's plays, and not once have they had to hold a gun to my head to see them! If you like plays with a strange twist and/or like to support local theater I highly recommend this one. It runs for another couple weekends, so get by Overton Square soon. Lin

That sounds like it was a lot of fun. Again I missed out on something that I would have enjoyed.
