From Adam Shaw: I have been asked to host an art show in March at my studio called the 'Sivads of March'. Sivad was a local tv personality in the sixties and seventies who would host horror and monster movies on Memphis television. This year marks the 5th anniversary of his death. I was going to ask tonight, if anyone would be interested in creating some artwork for the show. Cartoons, paintings, etc representing him or the movies he hosted, whatever inspires. I'm told he has enough of a following that there could be sales of the work at the opening. We are looking at a Friday March 26th opening. Art would need to be in by Monday March 22nd. Also it would be great if I knew early who was interested in showing. There will be other Sivad events that weekend at the Brooks Museum. From Kevin: The deadline is NOT negotiable, and there is plenty of time to create something to participate in this show which Adam is inviting us to participate. If you are going to participate in the show, please e-mail Adam ( info [at] abshaw [dot] com ) with the number of pieces, size of the piece, and copy me so I can have the information for our MSCA history book. Here is a website dedicated to Sivad: www.mlcsmith.com/people/sivad/We had a lot of fun talking about Sivad/Watson Davis at my October art show. Really looking forward to being a part of this- even though he gave me a serious case of the willies as a kid! Lin
