As many of you know, for the last 4 years or so I've done a Classified Section Comic Strip called Captain Value. It's run in several Newspapers over the years mostly in the Northern Arizona Area. It's been canceled at least twice and always restarted within days of it's cancel. It's been plagued by tons of production issues (none of which are mine). It's run weekly and monthly. Long story, so don't ask for an explanation. I've been trying to get them online forever and have decided to post some of my more recent favorites here: A re-curring villain, The AdMan, retuns... Last years Christmas story which introduced a new hero, The Shadow Knight... And the most recent adventure featuring a new villain, Major Despair... I haven't completed this one yet. I'll post it when done. These are kinda corny but fun. Hope you like them.

True they are very cheesy, but also remind me of the old serial comics from the Sunday Funnies. And the art is still great.
But it is hard to believe the same person that wrote and created these strips is the same person who wrote and co-created Bushi Tales. I mean the level of story telling is so much greater in Bushi Tales. I know that it doesn't seem like it yet but there are so many layers to the characters and story of BT. You just wait, you'll see.

Captin Value is alot of fun. I am particularly fond of AdMan from the comics you posted up. I recognize one of them from your Panel at Anizona as well which is cool to see. Also, having everything Thematicly based of Arizona locals is awsome. Even though it's locally made of course, It's still nice to see this state get a little love from time to time. These don't run in any phoenix metro papers do they? They're cheesiness amuses me greatly.

Dave,
Yes they are cheesy but very cool at the same time. Having spent the last 15 years in Prescott and growing up there, it reminds me of home. It is refreshing seeing them from old South Carolina!!! Keep up the good work!

Glad you're posting these since we don't get to see them on this side of the Mississippi!
Did you ever get a pic of the stand up they had made before it got trashed in storage?

Thanks for putting them on the net for us unfortunate ones to get to see! You know I want copies of them . My computer won't let me download them and open them. The artwork is really good. No wonder you have a following!

You should be able to either mouse over and hit the save icon or right click an save them. If not, maybe Dave can burn you a disk for your birthday. When is that again..?

Jane's birthday is May 30th...And I didn't even have to ask David for that...Like he would remember anyway. No offense Jane but he has a hard time remembering his own birthday.

I recently started collecting your art online and Aunt Jane keeps me upto date on the comic. I know I've said this before and I know you've heard it before but.....THIS IS SO COOL. Also does the V-code numbers represent the date you started this project? And Marie thinks that your cool for having done this. Good luck with the new guy and I hope it goes the way you want.

What a treat!!! Thanks for letting us see the beginning of the strip. What a great job you've done on this. I noticed now that the local paper The Commercial Appeal now puts some of their comic strips in the classified section . I know that was your original idea. They are following suit, but I doubt they realize what you have accomplished with yours. To have such a large following and to get kids reading the classified ads just to get a glimpse of Captain Value. What an accomplishment! The guy that takes over really has a job ahead of him to try and follow in your shoes. It just won't be the same without you For the ones who don't know Captain Value was your original idea as well as putting the strip in the Classified Section of the paper. I wish the best for your meeting tomorrow and hope it goes well.

After a long absence Captain Value returns... Here is the final part of the time travel story. And here are some of the latest stories. I had to cut back on the tones in order to produce them faster... And the current Halloween themed story... I'll post the conclusion as soon as it runs. Here's a picture of the 7 foot tall Captain Value that stands in the Daily Courier front office. Pictured with CV is CV's boss, Sparky.
