Some info on how this cartoon came to be.. Dave was teaching an aikido class when one of the students picked up a wooden boken by the wrong end and got into a fighting stance. We all laughed and asked her if she planned on beating us to death with it?! Later that night I did the cartoon and dropped the character's pants thanks to a suggestion by Dave, which made the cartoon that much funnier! ;D That cartoon later ran in the Memphis Flyer. I was flipping thru the paper and when I saw it I stopped and thought, "Cool- they've added more cartoons to the paper!"

I just want to clear up one thing...Lin mentioned that it was a female student the cartoon was inspired by. Even though that sounds like something that I would do... IT WASN'T ME!

That makes it even funnier that it is reflecting a real life situation. Truth is truly stanger than fiction! lol

Hey gang- if you'd like the samurai toon on a shirt, hat, print, or other merchadise be sure to go by the BT on-line store- www.cafepress.com/bushitales/448514Lots of other catoons images there. If you want your favorite BT character on something cool then check out the rest of the store! www.cafepress.com/bushitalesOh, I'm working on putting together a new comic of my monster/Scared Silly cartoons. It will be available on-line and at Con-Sequential this October. After that I'll look at putting out at least one new humor comic each year collecting some of my old toons and new ones. The next one will probably be a sci-fi one or a flip-book with two different titles. Dave and I have both been kicking around some more cartoon/story ideas that will either be in upcoming books or back-ups in BT. Speaking of back-up stories- Antone Wade did the art for the back-up story "Traning Day" for BT issue #2. His wife Janet has done a great alternative cover for #2. It and page one are featured in the news section of our site.
