David Beaty, Lin Workman, and Micah Stewart announce the nationwide release of Bushi Tales, Issue #2 “On Deadly Ground”. Issue #1 had the Budo institute in New Edo attacked by giant wolves. Now Akiyo Yamashiro assembles a hunting party to track down the murderous wolves and avenge her fallen love, Kitaro. Her older sister Mikah is left behind and worries if Akiyo is ready for such a dangerous task.
The new issue of Bushi Tales is 32 pages black-and-white interior pages, a full-color cover wrap around cover, and is full of extras such as 2 back up stories and a new bio page. It is now available for order in Diamond Comic’s September Previews catalog (page 336 product order code #SEP073894).
Copies of issues #1 and #2 as well as the Bushi Tales soundtrack CD have been available at several locations around Memphis, TN, Southaven, MS and Arizona for over a year now, but this is the first time #2 has been solicited in Diamond’s September Previews. Issue #1 was recently released nationwide on August 22nd (a week early), and issue #3 is scheduled for a fourth quarter 2007 release. Issue #3 will wrap up this first storyline.
Bushi Tales has been brought to fruition by friends who now live over 1400 miles apart. The creative team uses the internet to send pages and sketches back and forth to each other, as well as running an online store and Bushi Tales websites, including a special website for retailers- http//www.BushiTalesRetail.com. The Bushi Tales crew has also been making appearances at comic book and fantasy/sci-fi conventions across the country promoting this popular online title, and meeting their fans from around the world.
The full Bushi Tales crew will appear as guests again in Phoenix, AZ at the 2008 Phoenix Cactuscon, and for the first time in the northeast at the popular podcast Comic Geek Speak’s 300th Episode Celebration this September 22nd and 23rd in Reading, PA.
